Charlie
was born in Warrington, Cheshire as a lad his dream was to be a professional
footballer.
At the age of twelve years old Charlie had many clubs watching him
amongst them were Coventry City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester
City.
Charlie
fell in love with Man City, after going on Citys books (at the tender
age of seventeen) he had the first of his two operations on his knee,Charlie
never really recovered.
This signaled the end of his career, before finishing he played for
Crewe Alexander and Wigan Athletic.
Charlie who had always been the school clown then turned to comedy.
He formed a duo called Hale and Harty who became a big success in
clubland.
Charlie wanted more and by now he was doing little acting parts, he
became Mike Baldwin's van driver in Coronation Street performing cameo
roles.
He has toured Nothern Ireland five times, and Germany ten times. After
winning the Greenhall Whitley Comedian of the year he decided on a
solo career which would propel him to television.
Charlie
is now one of the most sought after comedians on the corporate circuit.
He
has had his own half hour show on Sky Television, and has performed
on thirty one diffrent TV shows.
He now appears at top Hotels and Golf clubs up and down the country
at corporate dinners, after his decison to go solo he has never looked
back.
Also he raises money for St roccos Hospice, he is a Patron of the
Aplastic Anaemia Trust which fights bone marrow failure.
Charlie
was asked to front an appeal on TV to plead for people from all walks
of life to give (Blood and Bone Marrow).
